Descripción
Inmunosupresor, inhibidor de la proliferación de linfocitos T y B por inhibición selectiva de la inosina-monofosfato deshidrogenasa, que impide la síntesis de novo del nucleótido guanosina. Se presenta en forma de sal sódica (Myfortic®, Ceptava®) o como profármaco en forma de mofetilo (Cellcept®, Myfenax®) que después de absorberse se metaboliza a su forma activa, el ácido micofenólico. Ha demostrado eficacia en la prevención del rechazo agudo del trasplante de órgano sólido (riñón, corazón, hígado), así como en diversas enfermedades autoinmunes o reumáticas (indicaciones fuera de ficha técnica).

Descripción
